As part of Quaker Oats commitment to pest control and stringent food hygiene standards, NBC is retained at its Cupar processing site on an annual bird deterrent programme. NBC routinely visits the site to fly a team of specially trained hawks and falcons to deter pigeons from visiting the site to scavenge for food. The site has seen a dramatic reduction in the n umbers of pest birds visiting the site.
