Bicester Expansion Gets a Clean Bill of health

Bicester Shopping Village were about to commence the third phase of expansion when they encountered problems with a derelict building which needed to be demolished to make way for the new development.

A flock of pigeons had taken up residence in the roof void and had covered all the roof beams and floor with droppings causing a potential health hazard for the workers.

Sir Robert McAlpine called in Richard Stewart, NBC Bird & Pest Control Area Manager for Oxfordshire, to make the building safe.  Using high access equipment Richard and his team were able to access the beams and start the arduous task of scraping off the guano.  Once all the debris had been removed, all surfaces where sprayed with a specialist disinfectant to give the building a clean bill of health so that the development could continue.
